yep it was a real one :) completely standard when i got it, even had the medie box in the boot with bracket :D

however it was rotten a as fook and back then they wernt worth bugger all so it was either do something with it or scrap it. obviously now it would be worth loads and i would restore it.

just goes to show how long ago it was

Ah just looks ok in the pics then. When was it built?

burgo
09-02-10, 09:34 PM
it was about 5 years ago. i tried to sell it but no one wanted it because it was rotten. im fully aware that now it would probably sell for about £1500 and if i restored in more like 3k but thats how times change i guess :(

Ste L
09-02-10, 09:36 PM

General Baxter
09-02-10, 09:39 PM

burgo
09-02-10, 09:39 PM
probert had it in the endyep then the council told him he was only allowed only one car so i think it ended up in the scrap yard in the sky

General Baxter

Waste IMO!

But I'm not into ruining a good car to then scrap it!

Hey hoe, good work etc, but would rather have the original Sr in my garage!

The truth is that one nongoes mk I as light truck is very nice and a very hard project, but I continue thinking that a restoration in one nongoes it is to make it as original as possible.

That you have project classes more, in end I will follow this post very often a greeting.

burgo
09-10-10, 10:16 PM
if it makes anyone feel better i have firm plans to build a rep of it pre pick-up

It took you 8hrs to cut the roof off stick a an astra boot lid in then chuck a bit of filler on and a quick spray over

It took us 48hrs to stripped it out sanded down the hole car fit lowering springs cut the roof fitted the boot lid fitted a full novadose kit smoothed everything off including the bodykit and around the back lights fitted tinted windows gave it a hole new paint job and then put the seats back in :p

18-11-10, 10:20 AM

CrAzY_kAyLL
18-11-10, 10:56 AM

18-11-10, 01:26 PM
I said a Pick Up not an estate :p

Just checked out the build thread and I take my hat off to you sir :thumb:( though it dont look like you painted it till after 48hrs lol )

hmmm maybe I should find an estate and see if can build one in 8hrs lol

Oh by the way I know we put that we built in ours in 48hrs but it was actually finished a lot quicker than that we just put 48hrs because it was only 2 days spent working on it ;)

im very seriously thinking about building a pickup nova over the winter with the one thats sat im my shed! give the old girl another lease of life.

Spudly
18-11-10, 01:38 PM
Thats true but surely there is more fabrication going into an estate as youre adding bits to it rather than just lopping bits off it to make a pickup lol

CrAzY_kAyLL
18-11-10, 01:45 PM
Yeah true that Spudly that's why I took my hat off to him lol

There has been a lot more Nova pick ups built over the years that have looked even better than theses two that also took a lot longer than what we both took building are ones

Someone got any pictures of them to help inspire farmertom ? - I remember seeing a valver one which was red and white once at PV

its gonna happen my girlfriend wants to drive it about so its gonna happen, theres a sweet 2ltr 8valve sat in the shed next to it so i reckon its gonna have that in the space that was once fitted with a ****e 1ltr lol

lol looking at this now i bet you wish you had it and had restored it!
But we don't have a crystal ball, if we did i would of sold my gsi shell instead of scrapping it!

burgo
07-02-14, 05:33 PM
Of course I do Scott. Unfortunately this was before the retro scene and nobody wanted a brown nova back then as I did try to sell it
