I am in the process of timing up a AST 14 Kent camshaft in a 2.0 8v SEH engine I have set the cam as per the instructions with the vernier pulley which sets the cam around 6/7 degrees advanced to standard by doing this surely it also advances the ignition timing my question is if this is the case the ignition timing will be out and fire early and try to send the piston back down as aposed to over and round any advise as to if I have set it up correctl and how to overcome this problem will be gratefully recieved.

Thanks Matty
