Right before I start I'm not trying to get away without declaring anything infact I have declared everything down to the last nut lol

I was out with the dog and had a thought about what you have to declare.

Say for example with my car it came with vauxhall alloys as standard but I have Cavalier V6 Alloys which are still made by vauxhall would these need to be declared as a modification?

Like my v6 brakes? there made by Vauxhall and are not modified and are a standard part? Just not on my car.

I know things like the v6 engine do but I wonder if anyone has ever played dumb and said "well it says vauxhall on it how was i to know its not standard?"

Is it just because there not "standard" on the car there on?
Also does anything reduce your premium for eg a roll cage and harnesses?

as said, absolutely everything bar the wax coat on it maybe lol

Don't think any modifications will ever reduce your premium, roll cage generally increases because of personal injury claims etc, bigger brakes they assume you need them because you drive like a tit, and so on.

Many insurers dont increase premiums with the 1st few basic mods I've found. Still declaring them obv in order to know that.

eventhings such as a change of stereo, also optional extras that the car has from the factory have to be declaired as they were not standard to the model alot of people dont realise that thats why the last company i worked for changed there questioning to has the car been altered from standard specification in anyway including optional extras rather than yust asking has it been modified
