the 106 rallye 1.6 8v was impressive acceleration so the 16v must be great but i still hate french cars lol
Brain, its just a GTi engine Rallye basically, but a lot lighter. It'll go like stink :thumb:
Might aswell drop both rocker covers off Ste an give 'em a clean & paint up mate :) ill dig some pics of my old ones for track slag inspiration :P
EDIT: That car used to have a plumbed in Anti Fire didnt it?

yea, did have, still got the pull on the scuttle panel still, may fit another back in at one point, but knowing my luck, someone will pull it, while it's parked up lol
but knowing my luck, someone will pull it, while it's parked up lol
Though so :) so youve currently got a little horse shoe shape cut out the scuttle panel then lol
Guilty of that lol If you can stretch to it, get an electronic one, an fit an inline switch to the external button to disarm it :thumb:
look at engine bay pic, to right corner, you can see the pull ;)
very smart mate, there good little cars and handle very well (although mine didnt in the snow but meh lol)
Cheers Lad's...

Cool. I much prefer the mk1's to look at & the power delivery of the 1380 is awesome too. Most exciting car I've ever driven I think.

Always fancied a rallye like yours, best looking 106's there is imo.

it is a nice car but if you slam them they tend to eat wheel bearings and dont thrash it too much they eat gearboxes to my mate has one and he cant wate to get rid. he is on is 5th box an not had it a year yet
speaking of wheel bearing's, my n/s rear has decided to pack in lol
collected a few bit's for the Rallye today....
front & rear bumper insert's and a lower strut braces
http://www.corsasport.co.uk/carimages/9176/IMG_0405.jpg
also had my first taste of french reliability the other day, as my n/s rear wheel/hub bearing has decided it no longer wants to play ball - will ne ordering a new hub next week to fit :(
Just read through this, does look nice. Wheel bearings are always going on these lol
Keep up the good work.

wouldnt usually be bother, but as it's rear disc's mean i have to buy a full new hub for the rear
Seats look well in there :)
The S1 rallys go seriously well considering they are only a 1.3 engine!!!
But 16v FTW

You can buy proper ducts for the fog lights mate.
Try www.pugmodder.com
Good site to try on things before you buy them :)
It's got proper fog light vents, but the originals have blanking plates in them like mine has, but are usually black and not painted White...
Alot of people cut the backing out and use it as a proper vent - that's what I ment

Mate used to have an S2 106 Rallye.
Awsome track car, what it lacked in straight line speed it certainetly made up for it in handling.

Cheers raymond :)
gutted about the flocked dash, if only i had know, would of had that
Mike - i want to get the later black plastic JP4 cover's, look miles better, and dont leak like the GTi one's
Martin - THAT IS STUNNING!!, if only mine was half as good as that :(
i'm sure i've seen it on the rallye register, love the wheels, suit it down to the ground
MARTIN KELSON
25-05-10, 09:52 PM
Think he did sell it to somebody on Rallye register few years ago.
Built it with the aim to do a track day every month or so, but the costs were too much.
Couldnt then warrant the cost of a car sitting in the garage doing nothing so sold it. Was a real shame as was built to really high standard.
Yea wheels are nice. Fancied them for the Nova but dont do an offset anywhere near close enough!
and messed with my tomtom, and made a new car icon, using a photo of my car

Thats right near where I work now. Does your Corsa C sometimes get parked on the carpark round the back of the train station as thought I spotted it on grey wheels the other day?
hoping to get mine to a track day, sooner or later, just need to sort out few bits here and there - suspension, better brakes etc,
mines a daily driver, so not really going for looks on it, as it wouldnt stay that nice, only 10min drive to work, so not fussed about the noise
use the misus corsa c, for long distance etc lol
Thats right near where I work now. Does your Corsa C sometimes get parked on the carpark round the back of the train station as thought I spotted it on grey wheels the other day?
Near Nationwide autocenter? yea - use the gym at the leisure center, very often, if it's not me, it will be the misus in it,
do you work in Altrincham now?
Yeah, Oakfield Road. I park there, work in Station House.
ahh, take it you jump on train to hale then?
ahh, take it you jump on train to hale then?
No, Station House is right across the road from Altrincham station. No public transport for me unless its a total last resort although the daily commute is a bit of a nightmare
ohh, i was thinking of station house, just of ashley road, in hale
so just off stamford then
Thats the one. Poor Corsa is doing more miles in a week than it used to do in a month!!
lol - dont think i've seen your corsa yet, so thats why i've never noticed it before
so that why you want a new comfy car due to mileage you have to do now
Not fussed about it being comfy as I would probably ruin that by lowering whatever I bought anyway lol
Just want something a bit newer for a change.......
new car's are alright, i like driving the corsa, but perfer my older car's, without pas etc etc, more fun
but i suppose you got the mr2 and nova turbo for fun
I've driven an mk4 Astra GSi and it was ok but not great, think Civic Type R is where its at for the next car.
the astra's handling is ment to be really good with suspension mod's and a whileline rear arb, ment to feel so mich better, and with a remap it would be sorted
civic's are good, not drove one yet, mate got a black one i want a go off, might of seen it parked outside of the nationwide garage (he work's there lol)
oh, and you'll have to find somewhere else to park in a few month's, that car park will be gone, as they are building a huge shopping center on it, going to take about 4 years to do i think
Southie
25-05-10, 10:51 PM
Ste how did you do the graphic on the Tom Tom then?
Love these cars, it's looking very good Ste and Martin yours looked a beautie.
It felt slow tbh, it was lowered as well. I've seen the Civic, looks really nice, I want!!
Thats news to me, no-one at work has talked about it either and most people have to park on there as our building car park isn't big enough. Is the Ice rink being knocked down then? Can't find anything on Google about it?
most of the normal tomtom's can be done on the tomtom itself i think..
just the one's with the LE version of the navcore like the One v3, what mine is cant be..
used a program called TomTom Heaven Xplorer, google it, and it will telly you how to fella, easier than trying to explain lol

my mate had a s1 106 rallye in black, had a 1.6 16v in it had abit of money spent on it, handled oryt engine was revvy but like all french engines it had no torgue what so ever, kept telling me it would beat my let nova lol
Calamity Josh
14-12-10, 07:00 PM
There was summit seriouly wrong with his engine as the rallyes have bags of torque ( standard 0-60 5.5) and i recon 1 would beat a let

Think you need to lay off the drugs. A 120bhp hatch doesn't beat a similar sized and weight 200+bhp hatch!

It's french, 30% of the parts have fallen off, and 20% of the electrics have melted and vapourised, makes it around 67% of it's original weight
Calamity Josh
14-12-10, 08:59 PM
Me and my brother have beaten subys, evo's and so on and they have a really torquey head and a low close ratio gearbox:)
Beat it how exactly? You'd run out of puff at the best part of 118/120mph.
Ive driven, owned, raced & rallied a whole lot of various FWD performance pugs, you'd give a like for like Impreza/Evoloution a good run for its money upto about 90mph if that.
Calamity Josh
15-12-10, 09:11 AM
Would beat a let on acceleration easily, and it depends on how your racin them, straight lign, or conering, and it deppends on how far you are racing for if it's long let will beat as turbo, and visa versa

lol
Yeah lee, everyone knows its the driver that makes 120bhp faster then 200+
Cooltiger has one, its a tiny bit faster then a b16b civic.
But not near a Let corsa or Nova, and an XE nova is quicker, but an XE corsa is slower.

Ste, they still fetch decent money these Rallye's, strangely, I know they're decent enough cars but I've seen them fetch £1000 + which I thought was a bit odd.
still fetch over 2k, for an s2 rallye....
yes, even more with a 16v engine like mines got

You still got the corsa C?

Friend drives a 16v Rallye with quite a worked engine on ITB's, running just shy of 190bhp. It will keep up with an Impreza until about 80 then they pull away... No way will it "beat" a circa 300bhp Turbo car... (He's had it 140 on the clocks chasing a Golf 2l turbo though :) )
Mate of mine had a 106...
