I'm not sure about on the Nova but my Brother had some Wilwood Racing 4 pots on his Rover 216gti and they were on the standard master cylinder and seemed to work good. It didn't have ABS either.
i have 4 pots on the standard MC

4 pots should work with the standard master cylinder, how ever they can make the pedal feel softer due to the surface area of piston they need to push out.
The is a formula you can use to work out what is suitable for your car, This is on the wilwood site
There is some useful information here http://www.wilwood.com/TechFaqs.aspx

ive got willwood 4 pots on a gsi master cylinder and they are fine a big improvement over the v6 brakes i had before
Will work ok as standard but you can fit a 2 litre non abs cavalier master cylinder with little work which would be even better. Ash
