hi all i got a 2000 corsa 1.5td to go to work and back. its a great wee car, it drives brill, but i think the mpg is a bit poor. i stuck £20 in it and only got 135 miles. i have checked the tank, fuel lines and engine for leaks, but its all fine. any sugestions...:(

Have you checked the air filter? How many litres is £20 where you are currently? Does it smoke at all? Have you taken it on a long run recently?

I don't know what TD Corsa are like to run, but my D Turbo 306 only does 70 miles to a tenner, maybe even less depending on what sort of driving I'm doing. But its been tweaked a little

Am getting 45+ out of my nova td and she is running 20psi of boost and 1/2 of a turn on the max fuel screw.

So am guessing something is wrong, does it smoke?

How do you drive it?

Get your injectors serviced might help!

car is running fine, starts first time and dont smoke at all. its just a car to go to work so i always drive it easy, 50 mph there and back, once i over took another car.. lollol

How much is the fuel per litre round your area? Our diesel is a few pence cheaper round here for some reason. At my local price you are getting about 35 to the gallon. Any price higher than £1.12/litre and you will be getting more to the gallon than that - which is getting to more realistic levels. Sitting in traffic doesn't help either...

When was its last service? A good oil & filter change can bump it up a few more mpg. Have you checked your tyre pressures? Has it got massive wheels on it (smaller wheels will help acceleration and put less stress on the engine at lower speeds)? All little things, but could add a few more mpg.

If that's still no good, then might be worth taking it to a garage for a look over.
