seen this on the bay & its the first time i've seen the tube round the engine bay... is it worth it???? has anyone else done it???

Novarally posted it up a while ago, I guess given the shape of the chassis legs it effectively acts like an anti roll bar between them, stiffening the 2 turret sides of the car under cornering. For that I'd rather have the turrets reinforced and tied into the cage though tbh.

only worth it if you were using it as a rally car imo

It'll add some strength, but compairing the amount of metal versus the gain in stiffness you're just weighing the car down. All the joints are 90 degrees also, so no theres triangulation. Plus it'll make swapping an inner wing a pain in the ass - you'll loose any gain you initially made when you chop around the bars.

You'd be better off triangulating the strut tops to the front and then creating an X across the front with the top two joints meeting the triangulation from the strut tops and the lowers meeting the tie bar mounts. Would then cause a headache with the radiator position, but then again anything worth doing is never easy!

my mate done something similar to this but it was mostly to protect his engine in the event of a crash as he had about 6 grang in there and some bad experiences lol
