update on April 8th

hi not much has been done since last time. because I have been save for the engine. I got the car put down the side of my house because some scratches have appeared on the door and boot lid. so i think kid's have been throwing stuff at it as there was a mud ball on the side of it one morning :tosser: .

my mate had a trip to Scotland for a gte front bumper and a loom.

I have got the car on axle stands and started to clean the under side to spray black and then under seal it to try keep the rust monster away.

or and Baxter the gear box mount is there you just can't see it Dave who i got the car off has been very clever and i like the idea he did

http://i737.photobucket.com/albums/xx20/dannys-p08/nova%20gte%20project/Photo0294.jpg

look baxter it right in front of you it just

http://i737.photobucket.com/albums/xx20/dannys-p08/nova%20gte%20project/boxmount.jpg

this is the main part of the gear box mount it fit a calibra rubber mount then a 5 speed calibra metal bracket then if I wont to change to a 6 speed I just change the metal bracket all get some pic up when I get the mount

right had a look at my timing belt book to day and it say's e16se water pump tensioner then i went to the next page and say's e16se auto tensioner. so i had a look at the pic and it look like the one with the circle cam cover tensions of the water pump and the square one has the auto tensioner and my engine has a circle cover so it looking like it tension's of the water pump but i will see when i strip it

lots of work done today. went down to give danny s-p a hand and show him how to go on. checklist: underbody wire brushed and under-sealed, all brake pipes and connections fitted, petrol tank fitted, back axle fitted including handbrake, dash fitted, various interior items fitted. also modded the centre console to fit over the cav gear shifter. danny took lots of photos so no doubt he will be updating later.

Danny - there are two types of Mk1 6 dial clocks then the later Mk2 (GSi/SRi) clocks.

The orange needle clocks are found in Sports and early SRs (snowplough ones) and the later type with black face and white needles are later SR and GTE clocks.

I like this car and can't wait to see it finished mate :)
