you need to apply for it chap but will cost you £25! and quick! if the cars not sorn you will end up getting a fine as its in the old persons name and he/she will be receiving the sorn letters like i did cost me £80!

can sell it if someone will buy it, will put most off but not everyone, will take 4-6 weeks via dvla and £25 to get a new one.

No you need to go apply with some details of the car, such as reg number, vin etc & fill out some paperwork, then they lift some cash from your wallet & you will eventually get your new log book.....

Would also like to say that not getting that paper filled out could cost you £1000 iirc. thats if your caught.

Head to the DVLA website and see if they have a .pdf of a V62(??) or the correct form.

Also I have read something that says that its illegal to sell a car without a V5.

Thats why, when you sell a car, never EVER let the new owner take the logbook with them!

As covered on this website many times thats a myth and untrue.
