A kill switch is designed to cut power from the battery

yes, and on most road cars it is irrelevant unless used as an immobiliser, but you need to make some extra connections to stereos for memory etc, clocks & alarms etc, but if you are taking part in competition, then it is a safety item that can be used as a battery isolator or to cut the fuel pump
This is what you want:

Take the twist knob thing out and it stops it from starting but the small fuse keeps the alarm/clock etc going..

You can still immobilise the car by fitting a hidden switch which disconnects the primary switched live. The perm live will keep all your electrics running.
i've been seeing them for about 30 odd years & something has always troubled me.......the main battery link is removed but there is a small wire link with a 15a fuse in it.. attempting to fire a starter solenoid with the fan blowing & ignition on with efi pump etc... surely that will exceed the fuse rating, blow the fuse & defeat the object.. am i wrong???
well yes, but at least your won't be going anywhere as it won't start. I'd rather replace a fuse/set the clock than replace the car!
i much prefer using a hidden lower rated switch. as i designed it there is no approved manual to tell someone how to get past it....
i once removed a factory approved immobiliser from a jcb in 2 minutes flat... and that included removal & refit of a dash panel.. these immobilisers are shockingly easy to get round.

yea i saw this on ebay but thought it would cut all power off but i still need power for the alarm but if it will do il just get one of these
didnt read the fine print lol
wait dosnt that mean i have to pop the bonnet everytime to turn it on /off ??

that battery thing doesn't stop someone bump starting the car either.

sorry, the original comment was aimed at the poster, of course i know that you know what a kill switch is forlol
as for the memory feed wire, i'd think i'd prefer to run my own memory feed directly, if i put my own memory feed to the fag lighter circuit atleast i know the only thing it will power are the things on that circuit:thumb:

i would fit an on/off switch inline with the main feed to the coil flick it to off no spark flick it on spark and you can run it inside your car but use a decent switch and decent gague wire
Or just take the king lead with you whenever you park the car lol
yes, and everyone sees you lifting your bonnet and playing with your leads.

plus you can hide the switch inside the car anywhere you like
