difference gte gsi

can ye tell me whats the difference between a gsi and a gte model nova.

They both have injection! The GSI has:- a face lift, and a different dashboard! and some GSI's have a catalyst converter! (if not all, cant remember!)
Otherwise they r the same! im sure im missing something tho!!!!!

the GTE is a 'mk1', the GSi is a 'mk2' of a 1.6i (a different way of putitng it!)

they have the same engine and internals, but the GSi had a face lift, newer dash and interior, a different boot spoiler, and im not sure if all, but most GSi's had electirc windows!

I thought the GTE and GSI had different HP, top speed and 0-60 time. They must have something different in the engine or gearbox department?? Or am i completely wrong!?

same engines i think, 1.6 Electonic Multi Point Fuel injection, 101bhp, F13 5-speed box!

the performance figures are VERY close, but the gsi is the TINIEST bit better then the gte IIRC probly wrong LOL

think theres .2 off the 0-60 time, and about 1 bhp

When the GSI had to have a catalytic ocnverter put in it reduced the power. So they had to modify the injection system to make it as fast as a GTE.

I think thats true.

gte is quicker to 60 cause of no sunroof or electric windows
gsi is quicker top end due to more aero

later gsi were dispac with cat but had better inj system to overcome cat losses

total vaux says a gte is 0.5 sec quicker to 60,but a couple of mph slower.

i dont think me or the previous 7 owners had it put on, so it must of been standard!

it was an optional extra that you had to ask for when you bought the car initially from vaux ;)

i didnt mean it had been fitted after, just that they were only fitted if requested ;)
