I've seen 1 advertised locally for £350...

Details:

E reg,
1/2 owners,
33k,
FSH,
T&T

no idea on the body, presume it could be good with that mileage, worth it?

not worth any more than that realy, i have had metro gti's which were very good fun and suprisingly nippy but they dont have much appeal to anyone other than little old lady's. just my opinion of course.

fit an argos backbox badly, drop the suspension down to its rubbers & then drive 15 year olds round really fast in it..... thats what they do in hinckley

Do you come from the land before time? I have barely seen a Metro on the road in years.

That aside, MG's and Turbo's can look sweet IMO

There's much better ones that that around too.

You can't slag a Metro when it spawned the great 6R4 IMO. What has the Nova ever produced? lol

Yes they look better in standard trim (usually) but seeing a fast Metro now always reminds me of 6R4's so for that, they win.

Also an 1800vvc equipped one would no doubt rape a 20XE Nova. lol

That RR one is canny, but this (http://www.75andztclub.com/showthread.php?t=284902) is my personal favourite.

no i live in an area where lots of people live who used to work in the car industry, and they bought lots of metros at ridiculous discounts from the local dealers.......

oxford was the same back in the day, but they had tons of maestros

ps. i saw real 6r4's in original group B rallying... apart from the door frames & front grille, i don't think they shared much with the mini metro.....

mini metros were crap, their drivetrains were crap, they rusted, had collapsing suspension, could be nicked by stevie wonder
metro turbos were crap too, but faster..

rover metros were much better, but out of date & when bmw canned them, it was the death knell for rover group... forget the phoenix lot, there was no small car in their lineup & it murdered their sales.

nova gearboxes don't whine from new.....

5 speed gearboxes are possible

novas were not designed with a £3.50 budget + a shed full of chevette bits, whereas metros were & the shed had a mini in it

metros rust way faster than a nova.

you don't fill up the nova suspension with a hosepipe & a bike pump

Sounds like a 16v GTa Liam? Nice name btw. lol

Mowgli, I know they don't share much at all but they still remind me of the 6R4.
What's all this about dropping a Metro down to the rubbers (bump stops?) weren't they all hyrdolastic?

One used to do the rounds up here years ago and he was running his suspesnion with hardly any gas in. lol
