noticed this the other day it only seems to be leaking from the top of the box where the linkage bolts on, could this be loose? and cause it to leek fluid? put it away in the garage for now but il give it a check tomorrow
just wondering if any1 else has had this problem? thanks
There is a breather nipple on the top of the selector housing. Make sure its pulled out or the box will be pressurising. Thats the first thing to check anyway.

does this have like a plastic hat cover ontop of it? also how do i pull it out? thanks
The plastic 'hat' IS the breather. Push it down as far as it will go, then pull it back until it clicks. That means the breather is open. if you cant push it down, but it clicks up, thats probably your problem.

unbolt it & give it a tweak with a small screwdriver or similar

ok il try this could possible be the problem if i cant get it pulled out does that mean its goosed? also does this bolt off the gearbox or would i need a new 1? cheers
its a hollow bolt with a placky cap on the top...that also doubles up as the filler cap for the gbox. you will be able to get it out easily

If that doesn't work its probably the selector housing gasket

Pass. You'll just have to shop around.

you slide a 5 mm drill bit in the turret to align the linkage, there is a black plastic insert that is pushed into the hole when not used, is this in the hole as it will leak if it isnt !

theres nothing in the hole, just a plastic cap that sits on top of it. i was told to click something but there dosnt seem to be anything that clicks? cheers
The plastic cap, when it is in place, can move up and down. The cap needs to be as far up as possible before it comes off. Thats probably a better way of putting it.

i checked on top of the linkage and the only black cover i can find just clips of into my hand its just a little cover and it wont alloy me click it up or down. i looked at my mates c20let astra which uses a f20 box and his has a white plastic cap that moves up and down so im guessing mine is goosed ??

do you no where you slide the 5 mm bit in the gearbox to line the linkage up ?

i think so, is it in the piece that unbolts out the top of the linkage? where the plastic cover sits on top of?
