Has anyone done this before im thinking of doing it im gonna put a roll cage in so not to fussed about loosing stability

ermmmmmmmmmmm not that much haha you where the top part of the seats meets the bottom bench there is a sheet of metal im thinking about cutting that out lol
yes i started my removing just that bit but then relised how pointless the rest was so removed that aswell

Thats what im thinking so if i cut from the floor up the back window then that will should be alright for what i need

Was gonna say, on a road car its the worst fapping thing ever :( an if done wrong (cheap tank, no roll over valve) then RIP is all i say lol lol
Saying that tho, a Nova tank is in a perfect position as standard really.

Excellent pic mate just looking at the second there would you leave the slope under the window in then?

exactly. as low and central as possible. if your determined to ditch the standard tank then get a tank that fits in the standard position

Fair enough thanks for the advice so what i think i might do then is, cut it to where it starts the slope.
Then drill 2 holes rite at the sides so i can run the cage as close to the shell as poss :thumb:

I thought it stopped the car from crumpling if rolled lol

Im building my own cage lolyes that is an added bonus lol but it is also designed to strengthen just between the suspension pick up points. anything more than that is pointless and excess weight

im not being funny aswell but a cage isnt to be ****ed about with. designing your own is all well and good but a cage if not designed and fitted properly can actually be more lethal than no cage at all
Aswell as doing what Burgos stated, it also creates a "safe" area which surrounds both driver & co-driver. The body shell will crumple until it hits the cage, which surrounds you the driver. In a severe impact the cage can & will buckle but your survival rates are still massivly increased regardless.
If youve been in a hefty smash in a car with a cage, youll bloody appreciate the time, skill & money that goes into producing them off the shelf, IMO & my own bad experience, I really would not mess with making your own.

Thats an excellent cage matey i am fairly new to all this so i am looking for loads of advice thanks for the pics mate
EDIT: Just read mikes comment looks like i need a cage guy haha
