Im not sayin do it and not declaring, but keep that info to yourself, were sponsered by an insurence group. just a little tip :thumb:

Lmaoo at the above post, very true tho.. people on here dont like people not declaring as they make the insurence prices high if you crash for people who are sticking to the law.

wise words, i went from an x14xe corsa to a 250bhp 200sx at 18, nearly died a couple of times due to lack of experience

Its not like you think buddy, ive got a 1L and my cheapest quote is £2100 TPFF, when i was like 16 or so i always wanted a nice powerful car at a young age, But i thort to myself, i was i was to put a c20xe into a Nova one day ill get stopped and ill have my car taken off me, points on my lisence etc.

But what runs through most 17 years old heads is, "wack a 2L Redtop in the car init"
all because you may know other people who have done it and not declared and not got stopped, dont mean the same is going to happen to you..

L14MNP

He'll probably be stopped...by a wall/lamp post/an unfortunate legal car driver or passenger/pedestrian etc.

Don't drop the soap fool!

Let's face it like people say you'd either crash it or get pulled before you do crash it... cause you will

I got stopped for a rear light out and had my bonnet lifted... I had a 1.2 in there and all above board and I drove away... You don't drive away when they find something that shouldn't be there

We should save these lectures really for when the lad can even get a provisional I'll be old by then

L14MNP
02-02-10, 12:17 PM
He'll have moved onto a Saxo/106 etc etc by then as they will be 'retro' lol

Kids these days have a massive advantage when it comes to cars, forums etc just weren't about when I were a lad. Also I started my car days at the 'will it fit/how do i do this?' suck it and see stage.

Now all you have to do is ask/copy online. lol

well dont get me wrong i know how to do things on a car, but i still like to double check things, just because if i mess it up i dont have a big budget to sort the problem out, i try my best to do things myself without having to ask other people, because i know its a ball ache having to explain to every young person how to do something time after time.

17 year old inexperienced driver + 150 bhp and 145 lb lbs of torque = death/imprisonment. Even I can do the maths on this and I'm pretty dumb lol

Yeah I agree mate. I ask a few things, but you get people asking how to remove tail lights etc now cos the CBA to go out in the cold. lol

would you put your pen15 in a blender? doubt it! dont do something that silly, you get caught by the old bill you can get ready, have a bump , void insurance and big bills for many a year

might be a good idea to learn to drive first, become wise in the ways of the roads,

besides that Welcome

have you looked into how much TD's cost.. and how often your dad would be happy taking time off work to drag your ass to a track day and then sit+ watch lol.

02-02-10, 01:56 PM
lol lol tbh if you get a valver at 17 and use it as a 1.0 its not if you crash its when, and you will get screwed over! if i were you i would put the 1.3 sr in it and declare that or a 1.4spi for more power but not something you cant handle.

Motor sport is full blown expensive, people on here have XE track cars that sit in the garage due to lack of time and money... And they have well paid jobs/licences

02-02-10, 02:41 PM
if i was you i would be looking down the lines of a 1.4 or 1.6 these are quick enough for someone your age i am only 20 but 3 years and 2 serious crashes mean i am a lot more careful. when you do drive you dont apreciate the cars power and its limit as i didnt when i made this mess.
