Seriously tho, thats really good for a first attempt! Impressed by that actually.

Altho women take to welding a lot better then men, espcially TiG.

In the first pic there is just a small part where youve had slightly to much power/torch to near as the line of weld is crackly so to speak, other then that, top effort for a first time!

the strips look really good. but the "spots" look like they are sitting on top of the metal and have formed a bubble and deflated.

happens to me all the time lol.
and constructive critism. as said the strip of weld looks very nice.

have a practice doing some joins of metal. so cut up squares and weld them on top of each other. and also end to end. as you should be with panels :)

which would mean more power :d or less wire speed

Gas mark 6 wire speed 6.5 to 7 :)

EDIT: Always worked before....will see if its good enough when Lee hooks that trailer up.....

i learn something new everyday, could you also hold the torch there a bit more to build up some more heat so it penetrates some more?

IMO no, as i dont weld like that & wasnt taught like that, i find by doing that it tends to sit ontop of the metal surface forming a puddle/lump so to speak.

With regards to the speed/feed & gas, it just depends on what your welding really. I done the below cooking on gas mark 6 but with a higher then id normally like wire speed.

BUT, its welding 3mm thick wall tube onto wafer thin Nova rear archs, to much power an it'll blow holes thru the thinest surface, to much power an you get toss results.

doing thick steel to thin nova crap panels I found the best way was to weld more onto the side of the thick steel and let the heat from that melt the nova panel.

with that brace i bevelled the edge of it before welding it in :thumb: uber penetration made easy :)

When the lovely (slightly bent) Lee returns it fancy a days work? Wanna get my shell sturdy and looking pretty again. (Some tw@t before me pikey'ed the rear arches)
