You ever hear anyone say anything good about PF? Most of the franchise just knock out exhausts from bits welded together rather than making them (if that makes sense lol), they aren't mandrel bent and most importantly every one I've ever heard sounds ****e.

Not really fair, agreed have seen some powerflow systems like that but if the franchise owner has some fabrication skills and pride they will make a good system, few members on here have some which are excellent quality.

Well yes like anything there are a few that like to do a good job, however they still don't make everything from scratch just mix and match parts which is never ideal. Can you guarantee they've used stainless welding wire? Lots of them don't ;)

The place I used mill their own flanges etc from blanks, everything is mandrel bent etc etc I know where I'd rather go...

Fair enough, you'll not get much else for £100. Personally I wouldn't but then I don't much care for stupid loud wasp in a tin exhaust noise.

I know and agree with what your saying but a powerflow could be fit for purpose on some cars as they dont warrant a handcrafted exhaust, fit for purpose and all that.

You get for what you pay for in life, If you want that exhaust and you pay £100 Dont expect a work of art! pay £300 and expect a work of art! simple!

there are better exhausts tbf but for £100 for thr full system tou arnt going to get anything else a magnex gsi exhaust would be that and you would still have to get it modified to fit, if its a budget build id go for it and you can change it in the future if you dont like it

Then another however many hundred quid to replace it when it starts blowing. Ashley systems are good on C20XE's, I can vouch for that (my opinion of course)

aye, rms have supposedly gone downhill since they changed ownership, not had any experience of them personally though.
a know one of the guys that used to work there runs elite exhausts down ayr somewhere and another owns c+c at hillington.
c+c done ma brothers astra and it seems alright. I'm getting mine done by simons in EK next week, heard hes quite good. If you're going for a straight through it shouldn't be to much at most places a wouldnt think.

aye, sack that, a wouldn't pay that either.
I can't remember how much mine is going to cost at simons but it's nowhere near that much. think its about 130 if you supply a backbox but not sure.

sportex do one for around £200 and they are excellent. from experience you cant beat a 3 inch btb system with repackable silencers.

16v Nova Kev
01-02-10, 08:40 PM
3inch would be way to big as its an xe not a let. also thought about sportex cos they do a straight thru middle section

blue_peg_16v
01-02-10, 08:46 PM
the tail pipe is 3in the actual pipe is 2.25in on a btb system if it was 3in would only fit internal shifter cars and also would give no back presure so an xe would loose power

Sloth
01-02-10, 08:48 PM
peg it was way bigger than 2.25, 3 inch seems familiar, may have been somewhere. it was the one on F668BFK.

ive known a few people running btb systems and they have all been 2.25 bar bar 1 that was specialy made for a let in 2.5 and they had the car 2 weeks

to be fair sloth that is the price for a btb there not cheap but thats because they know there stuff and there is no way they would put a 3in system on an xe due to the lack of back pressure reducing power bigger isnt always better
