Break it or se.... [80's]Psych![/80s] lol

Hayley wants to drive it. Should I let her? Considering the most powerful thing she's driven is a std Seat something or other but not one of the fast ones :p

is there a possible risk to your life? or the life of others? if yes to either of these questions then my answer is no.

Write her name on the back of your hand. Show her, then say "if you prank it, crack it, chip or scratch it your name meets your face via the back of my hand..."

I should hope not, she's not like my ex. Who couldn't even handle her own car (scraggy 1.0 A reg Polo) let alone either of mine lol

This is a 3.0 :p

Also bear in mind the Seat would have been a 2.0 built by germans in a purpose built factory, including state of the art safety technology.

The Nova is a 3.0 built by a bodge artist in a barn, and the only safety feature is your face, which is the crumple zone lol

Also remember, it's a loon, and no one really likes them, so if she crashes it, aslong as no one is hurt, a reshell will be 50p:)

Why not? Break it you buy it as they say. :)

Rather let her drive the novargh now n again, than the celica.

get a disclaimer form made up first, listing that a nova has no saftey features at all, airbags? crumple zones?....oh its a loon its got a rear one, ABS? inertia seat belts? side impact protection? safety fuel cut off?

why the hell do we drive these death boxes??? and you put a 3.0 in it??

i feel its your duty to fully inform her of the risks involved. Full risk assesment and meathod statement printed out then if she still wants to drive it, meh go on let herlol

Meh id let her drive it.

I taughy my ex Hayley how to jump hump back bridges in my Nova. Shame her Astra didnt like doing it tho.

In all honesty, I would say no, but I don't know her driving experience.

When my Nova is done, only one person will drive it apart from me, and the only reason he will drive it is because he's helping me build it (and he can handle it as he has a mad spec C20XE to play with)

As you've said yourself (although how serious you meant it is another matter) the sheer weight at the front end means it has a turning circle equal to a cargo boat, no PAS/ABS* even I wouldn't be too keen to drive a 3.0 V6 baked bean tin.

*I assume.

I say yes, tell her she has to drive it like she stole it

Jack
31-01-10, 10:52 AM
no PAS/ABS
In all seriousness, thats one bit that does worry me, as she moans about her Colt being heavy on the steering and that HAS got PAS (although, I think its broken, as it does feel heavier than I reckon it should). And I'll need to explain how the brakes work, i.e. they're either on or off lol

Also remember, it's a loon, and no one really likes them, so if she crashes it, aslong as no one is hurt, a reshell will be 50p:)
You have a shell for 50p? I'll take five please, to whom do I send the money? lol

Decent saloons are just as, if not more expensive than hatchbacks - look at HC Coupe's for sale thread. Its only now that people are starting to realise the superiority of the booted version :p

draper

I say take her to a massive car park to have a go first.

Cos the chances are when she tries to give it half a bootful it'll scare the pants off her, and then she'll never want to drive it again.

My mrs was the same with a Calibra turbo, drove it once, steering was too heavy, clucth way too heavy, and couldn't get comfortable.

There has only been 2 people drive my Astra me & Rickardo.
My mrs won't even get in the passenger seat of it!
Been on the road for 12 months now and won't go near it:thumb: lol

Aye, i couldnt get my mrs anywhere near the Nova. The closest I got was at llandow, she said she would come out on the next run, and then unfortunately positioned herself to watch as I came into the bus stop completely broadside (see avatar lol).

She then decided against it :(

I would say yes and no, Your gf/wife good looking? if so then no, you wont be able to reshell her if she crashes or at least not as cheap as the nova....however if your not botherd about her saftey just the nova then yeh might as well there are plenty more novas around to reshell.

lol I'll let anyone drive it who I think is suitable enough not to rag the tits off it if they can't handle it (that doesn't count for me btw :p)

I'm not sure she'd want to drive it now, I think it scared her earlier when we went out for food :d

my missus learnt to drive in a dodge charger in the mid west usa...... there is nothing i can teach her about understeer, oversteer & basically driving like hell.
she took my old 1600 mk1 to a police driving training day(they invited all the oxford a&e nurses in the hope that at least one of them would shag) and she beat the top instructor round the handling course in the nova & he was in a senator, she beat them in the jag skid car, cos it snows a lot in the mid west, and she scared the shoite out of them when they let her loose in the senator down the runway at upper heyford cos she didn't slow down for the bend at the end and drifted it round, then I bollocked her cos she let all the thames valley traffic coppers have a damn good look at my car & what it could do...

so in essence, let her drive, she could be quite good at it
