are bigger valves worth it????

ive got a stage 4 head, thinking bout bigger valves 2 go with it, spoke to the company that did my head and he says nething up to 10BHP extra with the bigger valves. got a nice cam 2 go with it (piper 272)

is it worth the money???

what does a stage 4 head consist of? i would have thought it had bigger valves already?

i was thinkin something similar, and if he can get even bigger valves then go for it, especially coupled with the right cam. a guy from piper said something very true in total vaux that some people forget, build your engine, and choose your cam last so it suits your engine and not the other way around. (ok he didnt say it that confusingly but you get the drift)

i had a fully modified head that included everything BUT bigger valves.

yea im gona do it, just gotta save up for it, few weeks.

i sent the head and inlet manifold of 2 him and he did a TOP JOB.

place called:

Cylinder Head Devlopments

guy called Andrew weston runs it, well its him on his own, 1 man company

he's ad is in total vauxhall every month, Very happy with the work carried out.
ive sum pics of head when i got it back, ill post um.
Cant not reccommend him highly enough.

not sure around 10 BHP for a polished, ported, gasflowed and skimmed head, bout nother 10 BHP for bigger valves.

Ive had exactly same as u have ahd done

Gasflowed head
MAtched manifolds for 40's and exhaust
Inlet manifold bored
Skimmed down to CR or 11-1 maybe 11.5-1
The Compressionwith no throttle is 13bar = 190 psi (approx)
3 angle valve seats

?200 :lol: cash job

Then 4 new pistons +1mm
New Shell bearings
New Main bearings
Rebore

?147

But :( Ive got a 285 cam in it and at moment until its really warm it dont go properly

Needs setting up though then sould have some nice bhp
