Clean oil in it? Take it out and get it funking hot, then drop the oil and put fresh in, Normally works (what i've done in the past)

If not give the tappets a good clean out.

with the plugs out, turns over lovely, when i said they were lower on the phone, ir tuned out the bucket has no oil in and locked up, so it was sitting 4mm lower then the others

the lowered buckets were on 3 and 4

could be a bent valve? Are you sure it was timed up right? do a compression test if its loosing some then pull dipstick out and see if there is any pressure in sump.....that would indicate rings etc then try the the rocker cover see if there is any pressure in there that could be valves....

On all my sump bolts ive added an extra nyloc nut on the thread too, so the bolt head is locked against the sump surface if you get me.
Thats what seemed to stop it leaking
