Fusion are realy good aswell, but can be a tad expensive
Audiobahn is worth a look at IMO.
Audiobahn are what I'd call "good budget", akin to the likes of Infinity

I used to run a JL audio 10" sub in a sealed box & a RF Punch amp all controlled by an Alpine headunit, sounded mint. All good quality crisp sounding stuff but I have been told Alpine headunits arent what they were.
Not interested in ICE anymore, cant be ars'd to change stereo in 888 and there would be no point in fitting it to the Sport. Still have the Alpine HU and RF Punch amp, Novacabrio has the sub now.
Always used Alpine and Rockford Fosgate in the past.
alpine head unit
dls amp/amps
jl audio sub
helix/dls/jl audio/ speakers

I've still got a 12" JL Audio sub in my Nova and had it 11 years and is brilliant, I run it off a old 1000w 4 channel Legacy amp, it sounds like it would be crap but it's not at all. ;)

your defo on the right lines with JL, come very highly recommended! Other quality brands to look at are Rainbow, Rockford Fosgate, high end alpine, DLS, as said before tho, depends if you want quality or quantity....
