I have a nova c20xe i got with rather loud custom exhaust which had a standard manifold which has had a bit welded on to make longer so have changed and put on a full mongoose exhaust system with standard manifold and only just noticed alot of vibration which didnt think was there before I did this as not touched anything else, thought it is due to solid engine mounts and I have spaced gear box mount so not touching chasis,I know it might sound silly but wondering if any1 else has had any problems in relation to changing manifold, exhaust systems etc and encounted same problems or any ideas on vibration??

well if the exhaust is hitting something then it will be the exhaust but, the exhaust shouldnt make a rattling noise unless you dropped a bolt in it or something, but it would bloe out unless caught in the silencers. but otherwise locate it a bit better

Could be the down pipe attach to the exhaust, mine rattles all over and vibrates the fllor, until i sort it out, and the backbox used to catch the chassis leg and vibrate, could be anywhere..

ok,its more the vibration making noise, think its gotta be mounts tbh but the only thing I have done is change the exhaust system since I last drove it and when I did last drive it couldnt really feel vibration.but cheers anyway

backbox does need adjusting but think that would rattle more than vibrate the whole car??its literally the whole car vibrating when driving until i let off or once out of gear not as bad

How old are your solid mounts?

Mine vibrated like a tw*t when solid mounts were new.
They do give slightly over time & vibration reduces, so maybe that?

Check when car is on the ground that exhaust is clearing the rear beam ok. You maybe jacking it up & all looks fine but when lowered on the floor & beam back in its right place its just too close.

Sounds Like Changing The Manifold May Have Changed The Way It Was Running Prior To The Change Ie More Vibration And Also Solid Mounts Will Make You Teeth Come Loose , When My Were Fitted And I Revved It I Moved With The Engine .

My solid mounts only give a bit of vibration when the engines idling.
