ive currently got a 1litre nova and ive got some insurance quotes and it a int much difference with the price to ensure a 1.2!
ive only 17 so cant go much bigger, would it be wort putting a 1.2 in to my 1.0 would it be worth and how hard is it and what would i need other than engine.

Good plan, just don't forget that 1.2i deliver the same BHP as the 1.0 carb (45bhp i think it is) due to the Cat, so make sure you get a 1.2 carb or you'll be kicking yourself! J

Do it... you can actually tune a 1.2 engine without it blowing up lol!!!

When i was checking out insurance quotes for a mate or mine the 1.2 carb mk1 was ?150 cheaper with liverpool victoria than a mk2 1.0!!!
why not get a 1.4? I'd be surprised if there was a massive jump in insurance even at your age - or even a 1.3?
both of these have potential to be tuned and in the future can be modified to deliver more BHP.

I got some quotes for when i was getting a new nova and it was only another ?6 a month to have a 1.3sr over a 1.2 so why not put a 1.3 in? Just a thought. the next step from a 1.3sr to 1.4sr is a lot more. Another ?30 a month on insurance or something daft like that!!

Dont quote me but I dont think you will need to uprate brakes from a 1.0 to 1.2?

from a 1.0l?
if its from a 1.3+ then yes straight swap
if for a 1.0l, the engine mount between body and front left engine block, is slightly different on the nova engine, so make sure you get that with the engine, or buy one from a scrappy, i think its that mount thats different  :? u got me thinking now.
anyway
one of the three engine mounts are different but easily swapped, and thats bout it

Have you allready got the 1.2 engine to put in it?
If not then i still think for the exra 6 quid a month on insurance the performance of a 1.3sr engine would be a better bet.
