further investigation shows 1.2i lines are plastic and the gsi are steel
and also the fuel pumps on the spi (1.2) are smaller too

if u change from a 1.2i 2 a 1.6 u WILL NEED 2 CHANGE THE FULE PUMP AND TANK. i had 2, ran REALLY crap before i changed it. :?
1.2i fuel pumps runs at 0.76bar
1.6 GTE/GSI runs at 3 bar
MASSIVE diff
if u run the 1.6 with the 1.2 pump it will run but want go very fast, mine did, had 2 change 2 the 1600 tank as the fuel pump sits in the tank on the 1.2i but outside on a 1600
hope this helps as ive been there :)

i run 1.2i tank and lines with my 2.0 16v, and so does rob with his 330bhp spider... i've upgraded from the under pressured 1.2i pump (it was fine for 3 months) to a vectra intank pump, rob has gone one stage further with an intank escort cossie 500bhp fse pump
much neater than the gte/gsi/sri external setup

what a bout a 1.2 mk1 nova? (non injection) would you have to replace the lines and tank on that to put in the GSI or how bout the Corsa 16v GSI? I know you have to for the 1.0 nova's.

I agree with ste on this 1, herd on many occasion that the spi runs at 1 bar and the 1.4 sri,1.6 Gsi, and all vectra, cav's with 2.0 runs at 2.0 bar. when the LET goes in my Spi it will have an in tank 2.0 bar pump, and i'm quite sure it will run right

the PUMP doesnt create the pressure, the pump creates flow
the regulator in the fuel rail creates the pressure, SPI runs at 0.76 bar, Bosch L3.1 Jetronic runs at 2.5bar and the rest run at 3 bar iirc
the 1.2i pump's FLOW is perfectly adequate for a 1.6 and goin by what ste says a 2.0 16v too
i recon it would prolly begin to struggle under tuned XE's, LET's and possibly even heavily tuned 1.6's
but its perfectly adequate for a standard or mildly tuned GTE lump

going back to your regulator theory aragorn.
when we did the 2ltr 8v conversion on my mates car, it appeared to be adjustable? is it?

nah read above ^^^^ i meant the 2ltr 8v we just did.
cheers m8
When i fitted my pump, it had a pressure regulator next to it! im certain they are adjustable, although i didnt try it, but it has a grub screw, with a square head goin into it!

what you have described was on our 2ltr 8v also locky.
where did you fit your pump.........?
so is it possible to whack on the fuel tank, pump and lines from a 1.6 GTE/GSi onto a 1.2i? if so, is there any gain at all?
