1.4 throttle cable

Hi,

Is the 1.4 carb throttle cable the same as a 1.2 carb one. Doing an engine change on the weekend, but only have a 1.2 throttle cable.

Assuming the 1.4 engine is a running a pierburg 2e twin choke carb, no, the throttle cable is different. You have a ball/pin connection throttle cable, whereas the twin choke carb requires a sort of barrel/slot connection.

Thought as much, I did the conversion years ago, but couldnt remember. Might have to just bodge it for now.

Drill a hole through a bolt and bolt it on, untill i can get one.

a 1.3 cable is the same as the 1.4 if u come across one :thumb:

can you not cut the socket off the 1.2 cable and get a barrel from a bike shop? thats the option i was going to go for when i do mine

youd have to shorten the cable some and bodge/mount it to the cable carrier close to the throttle linkage
