in the middle of building a new engine for the road rally car. i'm going to keep the 1300 group A head as it is brilliant.

i assume i'd need to match the inlet ports to the inlet manifold? i'm going to be using a irmshcer mpi off a opel corsa a sprint. the ports are quite alot smaller then on the head :s

whats the best way to port the manifold? when i asked hockley a while back he said to port it myself as its quit simple.

i was hoping you'd see this thread :D how far up the manifold should i go? just passed the injecter? and should i make it exactly the same size as inlet ports or slightly smaller

same size works best....

what is confusing me is that I thought groupA had to have std port sizes??? please correct me if i've got that wrong.

when i last rebuild the engine i compared ports to a spare std 1300sr head and a 1600 gsi head. ports were bigger then both heads :s i had to make the gasket out of gasket paper as the standard gasket wasn't big enough. couldn't even make the holes bigger as would go of the edge of the gasket :s if that makes sense.

not sure if they had to be standard size but this one isn't anymore.

its no problem as its fine for road rallying and when i can afford stage rallying it won't be a problem either as i'd just be in up to 1400class or road rally class. is this correct?
