floppy gear stick

has anyone had problems with a floppy gear stick on a nova?

what parts wear on it to make it floppy and loose

Yes, I imagine most novas are floppy by now!

Erm, Its the linkage, the plastic/nylon bushes I gather?

Just buy a repair kit from vauxfail

i tried a vauxhall dealers for the bushs and a new gear stick but all bits are discontinued ffs.i think there might be wear in the pin at top of gear box im not sure yet cause the cars away getting sills done and i cant get near it till end of week.whats a rose joint

Take the linkage off and clamp up the bushes in a vice, seems to work very well and costs nothing :D
