I'm gonna invest in a sub but i need some advice.

do all subs need to be fitted in a box or can you get subs that will give just as good sound if mounted to a stealth shelf?
if there is could anyone tell me the name of subs that can be mounted on a stealth shelf?

also, i saw on a website stealth sub boxes for the nova. they were around ?150. does anyone know where i could get one cheaper?

cheers

I wouldn't recommend getting one on a shelf. You need a box behind them to do with the air flow and compression of the cone.

Then there is the weight of the magnet on the shelf.

You could not get a stelth box and just get a normal box with a slanted back that fits in your boot against the back seat.

I have seen people with subs on there shelves but 9/10 they are always sagging and they will sound no where neer as good as if it were in a box. You gonna use an amp as well??
