Idea for a tattoo.

My mate brought this Tshirt back with him after a holiday, and i loved it.

Its by a graffitti artist called Banksy.

What you all think?

A. bansky is a legend, and i love his work, done alot of research on him for a uni project.

b. it looks sweet

c. do it, get the tattoo. baring in mind, the above image work well from the vibrant pink. im not sure if you can get a pink that bright, and it would fade quickly....

Edit: You can get a pink that bright, and depending how your skin accepts the ink, it could stay that bright.

Itd be my first tatoo, and i hate all the chinese/arabic/stars/tribal tatoos that EVERYONE has.

It'd look pretty cool on the back of your calf, or the tricep area imo. Even forearm would be pretty cool.

Think you'd never tire of it but it'd need to be across your back not to look too poky. Too small and it wouldn't be very obvious/detailed and this type of design relies on bold shapes and crisp, detailed edges.

Try pinup style girls. 50's etc the kind of artwork that was painted onto the US bombers.

My mate has a sweet one of a girl riding a spark plug with crossed chequered flags. It's different.

Get a good artist though, as that style isn't very forgiving. lol

If you like the Banksy chick why not put your own stamp on it? $/£ notes would get more man points than pwiddy butterfwies - plus the girl needs to be suitably dressed. lol

A good tattooist should put all the detail necessary in that, regardless of size. It's not exactly an intricate design.

Friend of mine had spiderman down his back which was cool. Web across the shoulders, line of cord down the spine and spidey hanging off the bottom.

Only problem was he had it done in stages, starting with spidey. So for a few months he had a tattoo of spiderman hanging over his **** lol

/\ as above i have quite a few tattoo's and do a few myself and ribs are not the most plesant place to have ink,im doing the mrs stars on her ribs atm and she aint enjoying it (but i am lol) fatty bits plain hurt skinny bits burn and rattle your bones,as for the pink it has a good chance of staying in and bright

ive been thinking of a tat recently but not sure what id want/have, im definatly not going to run out and get one on a whim


although my mate was on tour in the gulf for 6months and came back with his mates name tatooed on his hip lol

The spark plug isn't great, but it's exactly what was given to the tattoo artist and he is booked out solid for months like LA ink. lol

Just got to say, i dont think the first image was done by banksy.

I personally think he is a prick! have met him and done an interview with his crew (tcf) twentith century fresco's years back was bang into graff and tv.

He is so far up his own **** its unreal and even had the nerve to slag off another local artist for selling out and not keeping it real.

In Bristol if a graffitti artist does a piece its vandals but if banksy sprays a stencil on a wall it gets framed! he has some original decent ideas but is not a true graffiti artist, got a real gripe about it.

I agree with Ben, its ridiculous to the point where 'owners' of Banksys work have been brikcing it up etc to save it.

As Ben says, stenciling onto a wall isn't all that. Bankys want's to rethink the term sellout perhaps. lol

ive always liked wildstyle graffiti tattoo's but banksy is just as good. check out some of his other stuff, i like the panda with a revolverlol. or ,if all else fails, do a steve'o and get a life size self potrait on your backlol

the picture does not do it justice, the really sad thing is where it is nobody can see it! i work on the motorways and you can only see this from the hard shoulder, i was looking at it for about 10 mins the detail is amazing.

This is my tattoo, want another one but still designing it at the mo.

I used to ride bmx when I was younger and ever since the first time I saw the logo when I was about 14 I said I'm going to get that as a tattoo, its also my initials as well as 'Hoffman Bikes'

Make sure you get something that you wont regret, seems like you've made your mind up though as you fell in love with it as soon as you saw it.

And it doesnt hurt, (I only have this one atm so I cant comment on rib tattoos etc) its slightly uncomfortable ;)

On a steep hill? Was a blue and green piece done by Eko one of Banksy's mates, but he doesnt use stencils lol

You could put the girl on your right shoulder blade and the have the butterflies flying off down the back of your arm? The pink should be fine, I have stars on my wrist (yes stars) one of which is pink, its nearly 2 years old and the colours and still fine.

I have a fairy on my back (YES a fairy!) but the wrist abso caned compared to the spine.
