Plastic primer

Where's a good place to get it from? I've got a GSi front bumper I want to put on but it needs painting first, and can anyone give me some advice on how to paint a bumper/I assume its best done from a rattle can, I've never done much painting before :( Also what colour (the car is red).

Available from car shops for 3.50

spray that on, spray your colour on, lacquer it, flatten and polish it if you want, then the jobs a good un.

If i was you, with it being a GSi bumper id colour code both bumpers the same colour as the car.

Black or grey will make the top coat to dark and give you a crap colour match.

I'm not doing colour coded bumpers, I'm not keen on red cars with red bumpers, too much red in my opinion, black or white looks good, looks like gray is teh winar. Although a few people voted burgo and didn't state,to them I say - I hope your ears fall off in your sleep for that.

Yeah there is a red Nova with gloss black bumpers and side skirts that looks well cool I cant find the pic I'm looking for but I did find a Nova that is some inspiration to me

Grey bumpers IMO - Black doesn't look nice at all

Maybe not the best pic but Hurricane Grey is a very close match to the original grey colour (My sideskirts are Hurricane Grey) :thumb:

Im afraid I have to disagree there fella! My previous car contrary to what people believe had metallic bumpers,skirts and door handles. The wheels were in gloss. Is was a little different approx 5 years ago when it was all painted as most went for the grey option. I left it that way as It wasnt something you'd see on many others done to the same standard. I always thought it looked cracking to be honest................

It did help that there was a good finish on the car as you say but I also really liked Simps old red let with the satin black bumpers too....... Im sure I must have a pic somewhere..........

Black only works on a few colours but on fresh red REALLY works. If your doing the bumpers do the window surrounds too.

My old one I had done in a textured matt black...
