Im having a spot of bother with these. There seems to be a couple of different sizes available.

Does anyone know what bore size etc i will need for a Mk1 1984 1.2?

I thought all the drums from a 1.0 - 1.6 nova were all the same?

Any help guys?

basically, for about ten minutes in 1983 they fitted the early type of manually adjustable brakes..... then all of the other novas which had self(now there's a joke) adjusting brakes had the later ones

Ant: Ive done that mate and they have still said there are 2 sizes.

Mowgli: Yeah ive heard about that, mine are the "self adjusting" type.

Anyone know what is meant when they say the bore size is x amount of mm's? What part are they one about? pistons?

the rear wheel cylinders is a bit of round tube with a piston at either end and a pipe bolted in the middle next to a bleed nipple......
the bore size is the size of the inside of the round tube..

as far as i know, they are all 17.5mm

very late Novas have the same rear brake setup as early corsas with slightly different cylinders. The bore only matters if they are going to sell you a repair kit (saving you the need to get the bolts and brake line undone). If you're replacing the whole thing then you should be fine with the post '83 jobby.
