Im in the same boat, just with standard pistons!
Or should I wait, then go for rods, pistons and lairy cams?

Slight hijack.
I have Courteney Hi-Torque cams in my XE. How are these regarded and what sort of lift do they have?
When I got the car there had been a slight comming together of exhaust valves and pistons, due partly to missing dowels so the head wasn't locating properly and partly due to a well skimmed head. All is fine now, just wondering how close I'm cutting things.
whats the rest of the engine spec/use etc.. (for all of you lol)
could tell you to use some 320degree flat nosed cams (to limit lift but keep duration) when its wholey unsuitable for the rest of the engine etc.

Standard
not many cams for a std engine with std ecu.. grp N is about your limit
Risse motorsport has a very nice set of 280degrees. 11.9m lift iirc, fit's on stock c20xe. get youre ecu remapped ofcourse
