When i eventually sell my golf, i want to go back to something simple and cheap, the limit i want to spend is upto £1000. Ive looked high and low for Novas, but nothing catch's my eye really, wish i kept my first Nova now:(

So any ideas?:thumb:

Ooooo yeh, didnt think of that one! I love Xr2's but they rot just as much as a nova!

Whatever id get id like it to be tidy, cus im a bit like that lol, well apart from my 190 transit!

Hmmm, ive never been a corsa fan, i must admit, but for the right price.

I bought a corsa for my ex, on the understanding she would pay me back when she could afford it, then shortly later, we broke up, and she sold it! Then she has the cheek to ask for her washing machine back i sold of hers!

its hard looking for a car when you dont know what you want isnt it lol

i spent 4days on the net, reading the paper etc when i was looking last week

i settled on a vectra SRi and i love it

draw up a criteria of what you need/want from it and take it from there imo

Thats a good idea. I seen a Vectra GSI today, first ive seen in a while, really pressed my buttons! I remember when they were the talk of the town

Im a massive vauxhall fan, but for some reason I always buy french hot hatches. My first car was a 1.8 16v clio. now i have a 172 cup and just bought a s2 106 gti. Imo you can't get more for your money. Most have leather, electric mirrors, windows etc. They all have nice wheels etc as standerd and all pack a punch as standerd.

I was looking at corsa sports,gsi's, astra gsi's and they really are over priced for what they are. Well in my price range they were. You have to spend silly money for a good clean example

Go french mate, keep it well maintained and you cant go wrong.

Imo ofcoarse :)

Well kitted out car. Such a shame its so heavy. Really blunts the 180 bhp engine.

Ever thought about a 172 mate?. Cracking cars, ive had mine 2 years now and still love it.

Its because theres so many airbags. The standard bucket style seats weight in at nearly 2 stone a peice! The door cards are about 5kg each too :(

And the 180 isn't? My sister had one once, it was appalling. Fine in a straight line, ever so slightly faster than a GTi-6, but on the corners I felt like I was taking my life in my hands lol

Must just be my style of driving then? I found it thrilling to be driving by the seat of my pants feeling like i was about to slide off the side of the earth (well ok, M6 J11 island at 80ish)

I really like them tbh, but there again i know a lot about them/modifiying them.

I got offered a swap with an S2 rs turbo today, was tempted, looked tidy but not really looking for a swap

Also got offered a swap with my cousins WRX STI impreza import (95 i think) The cars been near enough fully rebuilt, due to buying as a shell, and the shells also in very good condition, with only covering 68k.

Decisions decisions! But i wanna move out next year.......

Yeh, they seem to hold there money very well, espiecially in this condition, i litterly cannot fault it, really really fun to drive, and the noise.....
