View Full Version : mk2 head light's
hi does any 1 know how you split the front glass lense from the body of light it self ? and is the inner piece of the light metal or plastic ? the chrome piece witch reflects the light :)
also who does chromin these days:thumb:
thanks james
Its a pain to seperate them - they're bonded on with some damned good glue stuff. You can try baking them in the oven to soften the glue, but take care as the glass will be old and easy to chip/crack.
Are the reflectors gacky? You may be better off just buying a new headlamp unit, they can be purchased off ebay (or here) pretty cheap.
were would be the cheapest place to get new lights from tho..... :thumb: i know thier's loads of 2nd hand 1ns all ways about..... but id rather buy new.

EGAY or local panel stockists, iirc mk2 headlights are about 40 quid new, each
Its a painted/coated plastic.
Head lights can still be bought from Vauxhall for just over £50 each.
