Evening all. I have just had my front brakes painting. As I had them off decided to change my fluid as its prob still the original lol.
I have a easy bleed thing that connects to the spare tyre. The problem I have is the pedal still feels spongy. I have no air coming out of any of the nipples. After about three pumps it firms up!
Any ifears?

Cheers Dave

I gather this is with it running?

Using the brake servo?

So when you connect the eezi bleed up, pressurise it, and open the bleed nipples nothing happens????

That's without the engine running. Once its all connected and I open the nipples I get a good flow of fluid!

Did you remove the calipers??? Put them back on the right side??

Yeah its crazy. No air but still a crap feel in the pedal. I don't get as much flow out of the back brakes

well that means the flow restrictors are ok..

did you adjust up the rear shoes first??

Didn't touch the rear brake shoes. Just tryed bleeding them.

What callipers are they? If they are ATE's, did you refit the metal rod correctly ans these hold the calliper together when you brake. Without them, it will make the pedal spongey.

most problems on nova brakes can be traced back to badly adjusted rear shoes

Ah I think I have put them on the wrong side. Would this affect the brakes?

They are off my 1.2 replacing the original 1L ones

Yes as the air won't empty from The callipers as there will be a pocket above yhe nipple giving spongy breaks...

Just got back in. Swapped the calipers back over bleed the system but still spongy. 3 pumps on the pedal and it goes hard!

Make sure the nipples face up wards.

Get a mate to sit in the car. Tell them to push the pedal down, as they do you sit by the breaks, undo the bleed nipple and air/fluid will come out. When he's got the pedal all the way down, do the bleed nipple up, then he can let the pedal up. Re pete till the pedal feels good.

Theres no need do that if your using an eezi bleed kit /\
Eezi bleed is just so much better ;)

Clearly not in this case. ;)
