Win Vista (yes I know, its not mine), trying to get MSN messenger (build 14.0.8089.726) to log in. Wireless via Netgear DG834G router and using the WZC service or whatever the Vista equivalent of it is lol
MSN refuses to sign in, states 80049920 and the connection tester says its the good old key ports problem. I know the router setup is fine, as I can use my laptop and get into msn without a problem. So its something on this PC... Win Defender is the only firewall installed and running, appears to be with a default setup and MSN is "permitted". No other gayhat firewalls or AV on the laptop.
Any (proper) reason why MSN can't log in? Oddly enough, Defender can't automatically connect to M$ and download new definitions - could this be related? The laptop used to have Avast! AV on it, but thats been removed and isn't running...
