also can any suggest a good place to get the cams from or maybe a better spec cam to got with the pocketed piston

and can some one tell me what inlet manifold i would need for the webbers to a dis-pac xe on the sbd website

You cant buy off the shelf pocketed pistons (unless you go forged: JE, Omega Woosner etc)

Any decent machine shop will mil 2mm off your standard set for about £100

degrees on a cam says nothing about the lift.

you need to check howmuch lift the cam has, i have to check what's the max for c20xe oem pistons, iirc 11.9mm lift and 2mm lift when the piston is at it's highest point.

a skimmed head can take less. but that's not major. skimmed to the max gives trouble with the 2mm though

if going for 2mm deeper pockets id suggest the QED q38h's...there the wildest QED sell for the hydraulic lifters, and there products are pretty much bob on to be fair. i think a pair of reground cams are £190+vat a pair or £190+vat each from blanks

Sorry but if your asking this i think you are biting off more than you can chew with rebuilding your engine.

Didnt mean it in a nasty way but your talking about spending a lot of money on the spec of engine your talking about, yes everyone needs to learn and thats fair enough, but if you need to ask about undoing the flywheel bolts and then redoing them up i personally think rebuilding a blown engine is too far.

that exactly why im asking is it as simple as undoing and doing back up i didnt know that which is why i asked or is there more involved in doing it all that was needed is a brief description on what needs to be done and i wouldnt have to ask again because obviously there is a reason the later XE has a fatter flywheel then the earlier XE
