:d yep got me a new nova.picked it up the other day was well happy with it
come with lots and lots of paper and 2.0L 8v engine.i have papers and service history for engine :)
lowered by 60mm i think
there is the is not much rust only a small but on back arch and abit in the engine bay

plans are do the welding.seem weld engine bay.make it look all smooth clean and paint the engine. spray and fit the gsi bumper get a spliter and fiber glass spoiler some nice wheels.roll cage tint windows only light tho.spray my flush boot.

most of the body work is done :) welding 95% done still waiting on engine parts.Sprayed and cleand up the window wiper motor and back plate an all looking mint and that.Fitted to the car and it dont work :(

un sure about doing a rep mate may be the next nova or in a year or two
going to look for some other wheels maybe some slabs but in time some soft stars or speedlines

as wayne said the tank is off just waiting to get a new one. bottom pulley sould be on its way next week and the engine mount sould be here to. i hope to get a new tank next weeks so she sould be running :) my next week:thumb:

it would mate but its all done now i just for got to add pic think ill get a new one in time.when car as a full respray in about a year. back arches i did them with some fiber glass going to get a new arch soon

dose most of the bosy work. but i did fit the 2.0l engine then swapt it for a 1.6 8v :) from Sloth .new engine is fitted just waiting on some parts from Sloth so i start her up
fitted new tank just got to finish pump and lines

are you running injection? because if you are im sure the ports are diffrent on the sr head to the gsi head? it will give you more compression yes. but the 1.6 8v is something like 10 to 1. so any higher then you run risk of busting headgaskets quote frequently. i had same problem on my 1.3sr i had alot alot took off the head and it kept blowing headgaskets due to such high compression. think it was 30-40thou i had off. im sure someone will tell you how to work out the compression ratio if you change cylinder heads.

if it was me i would just bolt set of 40's on the 1.6 and a 285 or similar camshaft and some head work..
the nova gsi was 100bhp in its day so maybe try a freshen up of the engine to restore some lost power?

first thing was the tank. i got a tank to replace the 1.0l put fuel in it the other day and it had a leek well about 8 of them.
and i couldent get a new one in the so i did this.

me and my mate knocked a exhaust up for his old polo out off all sorts off bits off pipes whacked and welded together beacause he was skint but he smashed it before changing it for a proper pipe lol

whoop whoop just got the engine runing.when i got the 1.4 i but the 1.6 head on,as there is a hole on the 1 4 head that the inlet dont cover. so i put the 1.6 head on and it dident run so i took the head back off and put the 14 head back on with the hole. and works:) sounds so poop. so going to put the sr head on it with the 1.6 cam and inlet no hole on that one lol

oh ye i see.well not looking to good to day. first thing was do to all pipe and rad ect. sis all that fired up but still poop as then trying to get her to run sweet as she was missing. then the water started bubbleing like it had air in it go took it all apart agen ,4th time in two days but the other head gasket on going to try and fire it tomrrow. i hope this engine not like last one

yes mate now its got a new engine in runs sweet. lets just say about time!!
now got a 1.6 was the spi but couldent do the key code so fited a sri ecu and loom ect.

time for a small update
got the nova back home first thing was to get it running so i could start drivein it. got it running but was running s**t and when you left it for a bit it wouldent fire back up. so i blockt off the return job done. took it out for a test drive and the gears were setup rong did that. leeking fuel from the pipe at the tank end job done. but still running s**t carb needed setting up and when you gid it some the rev stuck on. and keept trying to cut out did the carb so now ticks over mint. was putting to much fuel.the car come with another carb so i swapt the spring off that now you can give it some with out it sticking :)
