i'm pretty sure they also did them without the irmshcer bodykit? as i saw one on ebay not long ago.

The Sprint came in three versions iirc.

Only one had the wide arch kit I think.

I think they were, as the injection kit was just called the irmshcer sprint injection kit when ive seen it advitised, but dont qoute me on that!

No, it started out as a mk2 I think. I sold him the kit which Mark found me a few years back, it was on a Nova GTE down MK way on Autotrader.
I bought the car cheap, drove it back to Derby & stripped it.

This was the kit just after I removed it...

where all sprints fitted with the 1300 irmshcer injection? would love a irmshcer wide arch sprint. but would be so hard to source body kit. and if you could it would cost a bomb.

Wasnt his username TWAG?

Novasport

All were injection, the different versions were just bodykitted differently

Yes, would be very difficult to find now especially in the UK. Kind of wish I had not sold mine but it was only fibreglass & was worried about damaging it and not being able to get a replacement.

Yes TWAG now has the kit on his silver mk2

So is anyone on the forum capable of sourcing such parts now? Or do they pop up now and then?

napalm_27
24-01-10, 11:40 PM
duick is your best bet for sourcing parts

Novasport
24-01-10, 11:41 PM
I think even Steve(Duick) would struggle, they very rarely come up for sale even in Germany.

SR-Rally
24-01-10, 11:41 PM
i guess its just a case of keeping an eye out for a kit popping up. i've got the injection system here lol. putting it in the road rally car once i finished building new engine. thinks thats closest i'l ever get to owning a sprint :(

Poss find some used ones on Ebay.de. They were a 6x15" with Manta offset to fill the arches, I picked them up new and very cheap off Ebay.de when you could still get bargains a few years back.

2.4 version of the old 2.0cih engine, like the manta gte, but it had a 16v head... the later manta 400 had an ally block iirc

I think the bottom end was based on an Opel Rekord diesel engine with a Cosworth designed twin cam head fitted

Just found this...
The engine is a Cosworth product and, unlike its 144bhp baby brother, produces 275bhp in phase 3 form. The road going version was fitted with a twin cam 2.4 litre engine, derived from an Opel Rekord diesel bottom end fitted with a specially designed Cosworth Cylinder head. Unlike the Bosch Jetronic EFI of the road version, fuel delivery is handled by a pair of 50 DCOE Weber carburettors (rather than the 48's on the phase 2 engine) with wilder cams. All the really worthwhile power comes in at 5,000rpm and 275bhp arrives at the 7,200rpm mark

Not exactly.

The Sprint R had the injection, but not the body parts
http://www.opel-corsa-a.com/index_e.php?seite=Modelle/Irmscher/Sprint_R_e.htm

The Sprint DR had the body parts, but the injection was an option
http://www.opel-corsa-a.com/index_e.php?seite=Modelle/Irmscher/Sprint_DR_e.htm

The Sprint C had the widebody kit and the injection
http://www.opel-corsa-a.com/index_e.php?seite=Modelle/Irmscher/Sprint_C_e.htm

The injection system was also available for the Spiders with 13SB engines and for every other standard Corsa with 13SB engine

Cheers
Steve

yeah right... before talking crap, search for a engine... i know of a fase 3 engine for sale, it costs more the youre cars together.:thumb:

what's also done alot: 2.4 cih engine with a shortend 3.0 24 head. (saw the end of), buy the special cams for it from Risse motorsport, fit some TB's, and youre beating XE nova's around the track.

depends... 4 or 5 stud? if 5 stud, everything from 8j and higer is worth serious money. (5x 120, 8 and 10j was manta and ascona I400)

4studs are just manta gsi wheels, nothing special about it.
