View Full Version : Novas door removal tools and techniques
As above, any trick tools to use to remove these? Any good techniques? Ive bought 2 doors off a breaking shell and the owner is struggling to get them off to get them sent to me!
You can buy the "proper" tool.
But saying that i still couldnt get mine off with the tool
scrapping the shell? grind the hinges off, you can spend time working out how to get them off later lol

A cut down bonnet stay works best and you can bend it about abit to aid the position, got mine off in minutes

^^ thats the one but we use an air chisel with a blunt bit on it .
I use a bent bootlid hinge pin.Works great once or twice then weakens
i think pikey method is best for him. cant see him buying removers. its not a scrapping sell unfortunatley :(
i use a a giant raw plug screw welded on a some half inch thick bar....... then jus tapp them out;)

Soaking a rag in paraffin, and tying it around overnight might ease it. They are not as bad as fiesta solid pins. They should shift eventually.

3 min job, I went to poundland & bought a long drill for just a pound lol. then just tapped the pins out, Done the job nicely.
most people forget to support the door with an axle stand with a rag on top to take up the weight from the door. the pins wear so the pins end up looking like a small camshaft. the top one will have sagged to the rear & the bottom one to the front
