can you weld normal steel to stainless.
you can yes, but it doesnt like it all that much if its a structural/integral part lol
yeah as mike said you can but it likes to spit
i tried to mig weld mild steel brackets onto a stainless steel spotlight bar, it was messy and did'nt have much strenth, i was told to get the proper mig wire and get stainless brackets made up and weld it then but i never done it, i just gave up.

i would be a 185amp pro one i use in work.
Will be fine then. we often weld stainless to steal, only time I had the weld crack was on a racing exhaut for a bike and that was just because it was paper thickness!

I "welded" my stainless system to my mild down pipe for a temp fix. Had the power up high and it worked fine.

You Can Buy .8 Stainless Steel Wire For You Mig Just Remember To Use Pure Argon Gas
If You Use Standard Wire It Will Rust Like A Mother Fooker
