Someone has just crashed into the back of my birds mams parcked car and wrote it off. It is a 1.8 Astra SXI H reg. Would this engine go into into a nova engine bay without too much work? what would be needed to make it work?? Also would the brakes or anything else fit on??

can u tell us the engine code of the front of the block at all?

then we can decide if its a small block or big block......


if its a small block itll go straight in just like a 1.2 or 1.3 would

all 1.8 are big block it will be 115bhp

i hear that but the Astra is not a new corsa and is unlikely to have a corsa engine in.

its a big block alright and i definately wouldn't bother puttin it in.
been there and not worth the hassle.

heh - vauxhall finally stopped fuckin about and done what about 4000 folk in the UK have already done and bolted a bigblock engine in

makes u wonder why they didnt just use the 2 litre :/

I believe that there is a small block 1.8. I'm sure it was fitted to some carltons. I did look under the bonnet of one whilst inebriated(p*ss*d) once and it looked outwardly identical to a 1.6i nova lump.......

to be fair i did think i saw a small block 1.8 before now. :oops:
