Need to get my car down to a mate's garage (when I say garage I mean a proper workshop) to get the engine removed before the car goes to bodyshop on monday.
The car is SORN'd. Is it ok to get the car towed by tow rope? The garage is about 3miles away from my house.
Tried a search but it only came up with towing on an A frame or Dolly.

if its sorn, trailer only lol
if the garage did mot tests, then you could book it in for one... then go.

If no tax then all 4 wheels must be off the ground.

Would need to be insured as well...
Use a bungee rope and go really really fast so you don't get caught.
Must be Taxed, MOT'ed (or going for one) and Insured!
Otherwise it MUST have No wheels on the floor!
6 points for no insurance
up to £1000 fine for no tax
fined for no mot
fcuk it mate get it delivered or A framed don't chance it!
A-framed is just as bad!
I a-framed a Cat C from Gateshead to Lincoln with no mot/tax/insurance/needing a VIC check - the tow car was all above board. (a) lol
Aye, SORN is Off Road, i.e. not on the road. At all.
As said, only way you can drive it legally with no tax is to take it to a pre-booked MOT.

I'm sure you kept it all legal by using trade plateslol
