Is a 1.4SR block the same as a 1.4SRi?

Is the 1.4SR the same engine as the 1.4SRi apart from the injection/carbs.

no the SRi block actually has more incommon with the GTE block

it uses different pistons to the SR and has the larger GTE flywheel

the SPi blocks are the same as SR blocks however - and the heads are the same too
