First off you will get in very big trouble unless you drop the "TXT" typing. What was wrong with your first starter motor? what engine do you have?? what startor motor did you buy??? I doubt its one from the same engine if they are different, however that doesnt mean it wont work. A little more info would help.

i had exactli the same with my saloon mate...

if your engine is ment to have a 9 tooth..

a 10 tooth - probably wont move the flywheel being the wrong mesh pattern and possibly cause damage.

a 9 tooth - obviousli is the right one an would work.

the one you have is probably off of an 1.4 SPI engine,

Thats who make the motor.

usually you need the motor with the same teeth & size or it wont engage correctly.

not only that but if its bigger will it fit??

why dont you get the small tools out and change or clean out the solonoid?? I know I would!

well i would just take the solenoid apart and give it a bit of a clean grease it up and stick it back together, thats what i done when mine stopped and works a treat now!
