I hate the "jet lag shift". Monday to Wednesday I work 12.45 to 10pm - dont get in till midnight. Then off Thursday and on Friday Saturday 7.45 to 5pm which means I'm up 2 hours early to get in on time.

Thursday I'm like a commatosed blur. This week wont be so bad coz I;m off on Wednesday and Thursday.

I just cant sleep! The only thing I've found that gets me to sleep on the jet lag shift is drinking horlicks and eating 2 farleys rusks (lush!)

So what do you lot do when you cant sleep!?

I come on here. And just look at stuff on the net till i get bored.

Then i might go watch a few dvd's or something.

Or go for a drive, listen to some cd's. Except my exhaust is 'a bit' loud, so i keep getting stopped for it, as it's a bit of a nuisance at 3am and etc.

I don't go to bed till 6 am and get up at around lunch (sometimes earlier, sometimes later).

i know its not a medical condition or anything, lol, but i do get insomnia, i get it alot, cant do anyhitng about it, and cuz of it, i was kicked out of college yesderday for falling asleep in lessons and not doin ANY coursework (none whatsoever!) and there was alot of work, it also doesnt help that i do almost every night shift (6pm to 11:30pm) and sunday mornings 12am to 8pm, im a barman for crist sake! lol

but i just come on here till my hands start ot get tired, then i will get a bite to eat, watch a bit of tv, then i might go to bed and force myself to go to sleep, lol!

I can cope quite well on 4-5 hours a night, sometimes less.

I used to do early shifts at work but I don't wake-up very fast and I was a bit useless....

Iused to do a regular early shift on wednesday mornings, but after I stopped doing it (after 7 months) I constantly woke up every wednesday morning for about 2 months....

It was really weird, I was going to start taking sleeping pills but It stopped in the end.

I work 6-14:00 every day, it means i have to be up at five and make me sandwiches then leave about 05:30.

i have been late the last three days in a row!

I have a lot of things on my mind and i just cnat sleep, keep laying awake trying to sort out what to do etc.

When i am at work my boss is quite worried as i am useless at the moment, he is being cool about being late and not very productive. i have explained it will sort itself in a while and he says no problems.

I am fed up of wandering around not remebering what im meant to be doing cause my head is spinning!

why not just do the work while you cant sleep - thats what i used to do when i was at college.

because i cant apply myself to college, i hate it, it isnt for me, i prefer to be on a muddy field at 8:30 in the morning, no matter what weather condition, or to in the garage any day of the year, i hate the college class rooms, im surrounded (was) by freaks, these dumm ass kids who had just left college stoned out of their damm eyeballs, its annoying!

plus, i prefer to come onto the internet, for me, its a form of escapism, just to get away form the real life of work, college, bills, responsibilites, stress, etc!

i can come on here and relax and talk to like minded people about my favourite subjects (cars on this forum and football on another forum i use!)

as a career, i want to get into football coaching or cars, so being on these forums, i speak to people who i can get information off!
