cheers

Geoff is an honest and trustworthy man, he has no reason to lie to you, also, Iv'e used those cams, a worthwhile mod.

15bhp will only be achieved when setup correctly along with getting fueling checked on rolling road e.t.c. Geoff does some great cam grinds :thumb:

Nobby - there is no chance that you will see 15 bhp.

You may see some shifts in power and torque delivery, but across the whole range you may see an increase, but at the cost of other key torque/bhp points (if that makes sense).

The regrinds are OK, but the standard XE pistons are only any use for 260 ish duration, so you have to consider the reliability of these regrind duration stats...

Consider this -

With TBs/Carbs you see 180 ish right? Add a set of 278/286 cams and pocketed pistons, you are lucky to get 195-200...;)

I am not rubbishing them completely - I know they are cheap and you probably will see a few extra horses...

Without 2mm machined off your piston cut-outs, you will never really see a great deal from cams...

That said, with 1612s (etc), verniers and a good RR set up - you will see some difference.

Just need to ask yourself - do you pay £3-500 ish for a bit of a difference, or £7-800 for a better one?

;)

well im thinking let this time next year but wanted to see what power i could get from cheapish mods on my xe? my carbs owe me around £600 as it is plus my full stainless £180 im nearly in let category!

If you are on bike carbs - then I would spend the ££ on an exhaust manifold - like an SBD copy...? If you havent got one already?
