Not much point really is there! Tailgates are usually fine! If it was doors then they'd go for LOADS!

I wan a new door
i could ideally do with a drivers one...........

rust isnt that visible from outside, the door sticks out a tiny bit at bottom though!

must be the vinyl holding it together

having said that the passenger is a minter

wonder why only one ever gus?

lmao its my passenger door thats gone.

Saying that i always moan about it and say i need a new one but i had a look when stripping the car, its very confined to one spot and i think it could be repaired but this would mean repainting again (4th time) :o

I hate that door, had it de locked, then someone kicked it in, then the de locking cracked so had it re done properly (was meant to be the first time) and now the rot.

LOL poor Ben!

Just fibreglass it and then tiny bit of filler over rust mike! Then paint whole inside of door with 4 coats of hammerite paint and then waxoyl and loadsa other shit! It works!

Er no it wouldnt because it would seal the rust in and make it even worse.

errrrrrr brenny! I meant rub down, clear ALL rust then fill!!!! As i said!

Besides hammerite eats at rust anyway but i did mean clean it all up first COMPLETELY!

get a clean door off another one Ben and it will be done right in the end.
As for bootlids never really going rusty.......they are as common as doors, just you can't see it till the glass is out and the rubber is out of the way!

Thank god i've never had a problem with rusty wings/doors/arches etc..

I bought another 1992 nova last week that had a rear-end shunt in 1998, it was stored in a guys garage since then (i havent a clue why?!?). The doors/wings/bonnet are all mint. Infact the entire shell is completely rust-free (not even the smallest blister), its just a pity the boot floor is kinked from the shunt!

I'm gonna keep all the good parts and put them onto my tempory winter nova when i have my Blue nova rebuilt.
