I believe you need an adapter plate between the carb and inlet. I've seen a few for sale on ebay, usually used by autograssers. Hope this helps

Nope I don't have one but on the engine that's going into my Mk1 there is a carb on it - Can't think what from
1600 Astra/Cavalier maybe...
