Do it again, but move the stick slightly to the right before you tighten it up. Chances are you have too much play in your linkage though, it might be worth making yourself a rosejointed one.

I used to to it alone, but with ducktape holding the stick in place :d.

ive heard of one person that made a wooden jig to slide over his gearstick to lock it in neutral. sounds like a good idea, you could probably do the same with a jumper or something, stuff it down the hole, one that u dont want tho, itll come out covered in grease most likely.

Just use a joiners vice clamp to hold stickin place, easy!

(edit, have you still not done this yet!)

you should hold the gearstick in the neutral position which is in between 3rd and 4th not 1st and second

I've always lined the 2 arrows up, never had a problem. Ie the stick needs to be between 1st and second (neutral) And as far across to the left as poss without pushing it down (if that makes sense!)

the allen key trick is far left, ie 1st and 2nd.
The cav linkages have a hole for an allen key under the gaiter, so you can do it on the box and the stick, 100% 1 man adjustment.

oh. well i never bother locking it with a pin or drill bit, just make sure the box is in neutral and hold the stick in neutral. done a ridiculous amount of them like this ad it always works fine

so why if ive had it in neautral in all different positions can i still not get reverese? you no where it joins from th:confused: e selector on the box to the linkage is the little bush ment to be right over the ball and in the hole

yhea i always had reverse the where the linkage on the box meets the linkage the white plastic thing popped off the ball joint and i had no gears then i put it back on and had no reverese and cant set it up again
